Caroline Wambogo

Caroline Wambogo is fourteen years old and will be going into the eighth grade next school year. Her parents passed away in the year 2000, when she was only seven years old.  They had ten children, who were all left behind. Caroline has six brothers and four sisters. Two of them are younger than herself. Some of her elder brothers and sisters have had to leave school due to lack of money to pay school fees as well as the basic necessities for survival. 

Their father was a businessman who had managed to buy a shamba (farm) of one acre. He had begun building a semi-permanent house, but was unable to complete it before his death. After their parents death, the children were threatened by thieves and were forced by circumstances to move into two small rented rooms which were at the time being paid for by good Samaritans. This is no longer the case, and no one is currently paying for their rent . Their landlord is threatening to evict them because they have not been able to pay him the $8.00 monthly rent for the past eight months.They are $64 USD in arrears and in need of your kindness and generousity to save themselves  from becoming homeless.

Food is also a big problem because there are so many hungry mouths to feed in this family. Their elder sister ,who takes care of them, is a single mother and has two very young children of her own who also need her to provide for them.

The community elders are searching for a charitable group or an individual  to sponsor this family. If the older children were able to receive training in such skills as: driving, carpentry, tailoring or hairdressing; they would be in a better position to assist the rest and also be in a better position to support their family going forward.
