karenVISION:
To have an Empowered Community reflected through realized and Established child Education related projects, socio-economic development projects amongst youth, women, children and community at large.

MISSION:
Educate Embu Community; by supporting the education and livelihood of vulnerable, orphaned and needy children, through collaboration with community and related partners. Their support helps initiate and promote development projects amongst youth, children and women within the community.

OBJECTIVE:
To establish an institution of empowered community, able to implement and sustain education development and other social economic development projects, that are able to support the education of orphaned, needy and vulnerable children. This could be achieved through collaboration and networking with related institutions and other stakeholders within communities liasing with the Foundation.

The people of Embu have witnessed a grievous loss within their families. Their loss is not a natural act of God or a result of age related death. It is because many within the community have HIV & AIDS.

Those that are affected are unable to obtain the appropriate medicines which would extend their lives and enable them to care for their families.  We have an ethical obligation to act on their behalf by initiating a multinational cry for a response to HIV & AIDS. This is the time we need to develop a sustainable and effective way to address this global concern.  Educating the youth and keeping them engaged in positive and constructive activities is critical to our mission.

EDUCATION:-

In order to reach the youth and their family members, we need to create educational opportunities that are designed to fit their needs. This may require the development of an adult literacy program and a non traditional high school that would accommodate students who had to work to support families. It would appear that there is a need for this kind of flexibility because the number of school dropouts is alarmingly high, despite the fact that the government offers tuition free education.

Both target groups need information about the societal and personal impacts of HIV & AIDS additionally, literacy and skills to compete in the global market place.

Our schools are in desperate of support. Pictures and research will be posted on this site in the near future.
